The Role
We are seeking an Application Support Engineer to join our consulting, system integration, and data analytics product solutions team.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support for our applications, ensuring smooth operations and a high level of user satisfaction. You will troubleshoot issues, conduct regular health checks, and collaborate with development teams to implement enhancements. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining data consistency and supporting system updates. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing to the overall success and growth of our business.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for application-related issues reported by users, ensuring professional communication throughout.
- Provide troubleshooting support for end-users and communicate effectively about issues and resolutions.
- Conduct regular health checks and monitor application processes to ensure seamless operations.
- Analyze error messages and logs to identify root causes of functional issues, documenting findings for tracking and reporting.
- Maintain ETL processes to ensure data standardization and consistency across applications.
- Support regular updates and system patches in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Escalate issues internally and externally with service providers and partners as needed.
- Execute defined processes, adhering to escalation procedures and customer support protocols.
- Collaborate with the development team to understand the overall technical architecture and feature implementations.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge database for accurate information on maintenance and troubleshooting.
Job Requirements
- Minimum degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant technical support experience.
- Proficiency in at least one database system such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL, or MySQL.
- Programming skills in languages such as C#, Python, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with IT systems networking and connectivity.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience in cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.
- Hands-on experience in implementing or maintaining data warehouses, data lakes, big data visualization, or advanced analytics systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Capability to work under pressure during peak project demands.
- Willingness to work after hours when necessary.
